Wire or flat stock enters through a roll straightener to a die area where stamping operations are performed. The wire or flat stock is then cut off to the required length. After shaping and stamping the holes, the part is ejected as a finished part. Savings are realized because there are no secondary operations and material costs are less than the progressive die operations because the part is formed from net size material rather than from a strip.
